Monitoring, Evaluation and Research

Nutrition monitoring and evaluation systems are essential in measuring program performance and evaluating the impact of interventions. These systems include routine recording and reporting of nutrition services integrated in the existing health information system and periodic surveys and also assessments. Nutrition surveillance provides information for routine monitoring of nutritional status and early warning for disaster mitigation.

Food Security and Emergency Nutrition

The food security and emergency program seeks to Support implementation of strategic objective 4 of the Kenya National Nutrition Action Plan 2012-2017 This strategic objective focuses on effective disaster preparedness, response and management of nutrition emergencies.

Nutrition Policies and Laws

The County Health Policy gives directions to ensure significant improvement in overall status health in the County in line with the country’s long term development agenda, Vision 2030, the Constitution of Kenya 2010 and global commitments. It demonstrates the health sector’s commitment, under government stewardship, to ensuring that the Country attains the highest possible standards of health, in a manner responsive to the needs of the population.
